"Barcarolle" is a composition by my former piano teacher: Jan Oczkowski.

He originally composed the main melody as a pedagogic piece for his students, but I always loved its simple yet exciting theme and decided to create an arrangement in my style as a tribute for him.

Traditionally, a barcarolle is a folk song sung by Venetian gondoliers, or a piece of music composed in that style, which is characterized by a rhythm reminiscent of the gondolier's stroke, almost invariably in 6/8 meter at a moderate tempo.
